For My Regular Readers

Last month marked the 8th anniversary of Growing4Life. Beginning in June 2010, and for the last eight years, I have blogged faithfully here on Mondays and Thursdays. Readers have come and gone and some of you have stayed around and have become part of what I would call the Growing4Life community. I am very grateful for you.

Here at this blog, I have desired to be a bridge for those who want to follow God and grow in their knowledge and obedience of His Word but aren’t quite sure where to start. To be a bridge for those who don’t know the truth of the apostasy overtaking the church but truly desire to know the truth. I want to encourage anyone who ends up here on this blog out of status quo Christianity and into a vibrant, growing faith based solely on the Word of God.

But in working towards this purpose, I currently find myself weary and lacking in creativity. Over the course of the last few months I have felt so uninspired here. It has seemed like I am repeating myself a lot and simply saying the same thing in a different way. Which I guess is pretty natural at this point.

And so–

I have decided to take a break for the next few weeks. I am leaving it open-ended because I am not really sure how much time I’ll take off. But this seemed like a good time to take a break as I have a very busy July ahead.

You will still find me on the Growing4Life Facebook page, where I will continue to occasionally feature a few of the old Growing4Life posts that are worth dusting off and re-posting. I will also post articles and photos as I have time.

I hope you are having a wonderful summer and I’ll see you in a few weeks!

I pray you will get the rest that you need in order to come back rejuvenated and reenergized for this ministry. There are plenty of bloggers out there who are scratching itching ears. We ladies need blogs like yours that are promoting truth, blogs that are calling us to examine ourselves and repent of our sin so that we can be the ambassadors of Christ we are commanded to be.

  2. Our Pastor gave a sermon on Galatians 6:7-10 yesterday. It was a wonderful reminder of our purpose as Christians….your website also provides such reminders! Thank you….I trust that God will refresh you and fill you with his peace..and alllll the fruits of His Spirit?. I always look forward to your writings!

I just want to let you know that you are very helpful to me & if you repeat anything, that is probably because I or we need reminded of it. :) Enjoy your time off. Thank you again for caring!!!

Leslie…Take all the time you need. I continue to be inspired by your writings, insights & encouragements. I hope I’m not the only male reader here – but – whenever you post…it’s most likely the 1st email I read when I log in. Continued blessings to you as you take a holiday from writing. Looking forward to reading them again as soon as you decide it’s God’s timing.

  5. Hear, hear! I have come to believe that there are seasons when God has inspired us to write things that inspire and encourage others. I am currently in a season of reflection and frankly wondering whether our voices are heard in the cacophony of noises blaring a worldview that defies scriptural truth. You have written in such a tone that is intended and taken to bring unity to the body of Christ. May God reward and refresh you for the next season that He has for you.

    1. Thank you! Today I was with a group of “Christians” and, as I listened to them talk about their favorite (and extremely unbiblical) “Christian” authors, it really hit home just how different I really am. God has really been reminding me that I can’t write for the crowd but only for Him to use however He wants. That being said, I hope to start writing again next week. God will make sure that whoever needs to read what we write reads it :) I am so thankful that we can “meet” like-minded believers online. Isn’t that such a blessing? It helps us not to feel so terribly alone.
